MBI Deductible Manager
Effective January 1, 2006, a High Deductible Health Plan (�HDHP�) must include a combined medical and pharmacy high deductible in order for the plan to be HSA eligible.
This requirement poses new challenges to Health Plans and Pharmacy Benefit managers as they need to invest money and resources to develop a real-time and collaborative claims adjudication process.
MBI�s Deductible Manager solves the 2006 requirements with little or no development required by the Health Plan or PBM. We will help to ensure your new and renewing HDHP participants can continue to contribute to their HSA into 2006 and beyond.
How does it work?
- Health Plan provides eligibility and initial deductible balances for all of your HDHP participants to MBI.
- As the subscribers and family members incur claims, the health plan or PBM will adjudicate claims as they normally do, sending to MBI in a real-time or batch basis approved amounts to be applied to the deductible.
- Deductible Manager will authorize all claim transactions (Rx and medical) against the member�s deductible, providing the health plan or Pharmacy Benefit Manager with real time deductible accumulation.
- MBI will maintain the deductible balance on a real-time basis which can be provided to the Health Plan or PBM at any time via a web services call for customer service or web display.
- The Deductible Manager can also be set up to manage Maximum Out-of-Pocket.
