How the Identity Theft Program Works
The Identity Theft program offers two proactive online identity theft educational products: the Personal Protection Plan and the Family Plan Plus. Each product consists of four modules. The Awareness and Prevention modules are focused on education with as-needed e-mail alerts, notifying subscribers about urgent identity theft issues. Our monthly e-newsletter focuses in more detail on the prevention of identity theft and provides prevention tips to help minimize the risk of becoming an identity theft victim. With these two modules, our subscribers will become educated about the crime of identity theft.
The Identity Theft program also provides subscribers with our Recovery and Insurance modules. These two modules are focused on the recovery process should you become an identity theft victim. The Recovery module provides subscribers with all that they need should they become a victim of an identity theft event. While the Internet is full of information to assist victims in recovering from an identity theft event, we have done the work for them. We provide subscribers with information on who to contact, what to tell them and what order to contact them in, to help them get their identity back. The Insurance module provides subscribers with financial reimbursement should they become an identity theft victim. It provides for financial reimbursement of up to $10,000 or $25,000 (depending on the product enrolled in) per family member for out-of-pocket, legal, and miscellaneous expenses incurred while resolving an identity theft event. In addition, the insurance module will also provide a sub-limit of up to $500 or $1,000 per week (depending on the product enrolled in), 4 weeks maximum for lost wages associated with getting your identity back.
